It’s not every day that we hear about a teenage entrepreneur (in STEAM of course) receiving some much deserved shelf space in Target. So of course, we have to take a moment to admire all of this black girl magic that is just in time for Black History Month.

18-year-old entrepreneur Zandra Cunningham has been on her grind for years now and is turning her passion for STEAM into a well sought out beauty brand that focuses on giving back. Her journey started at the tender age of 9 when her father encouraged her to make her own lip balms. From there, Zandra created a variety of products including moisturizers, exfoliants, soaps, and deodorant that have names like; For The Love of Mint Bamboo Black Soap and The Lemon Tree Tea Sugar Scrub (just to name a few). All of which include unique, uplifting quotes on the containers to help girls encourage themselves. She’s also has made a few appearances on The Today Show, ABC News, and The Revisit Enspire 2016 Conference.

Zandra answers the need to provide safe skin care alternatives coupled by empowerment to young girls like herself. Which is what we need more of in black owned beauty companies now more than ever.

This plant-based “Treat Yo Self” gift box is available at 707 regular and super target locations across the United States. Look out for Zandra’s face near the Celebrate Black History Month display alongside the likes of Lip Bar Founder Melissa Butler and Uncle Jimmy’s founder Taliah Waajid.
